Pakistani Scholars Complete Advanced Training in China

A group of senior Pakistani academics has successfully completed an advanced training programme in China, marking another milestone in academic collaboration between the two countries under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor framework.

The second Advanced Training Programme, hosted by Tianjin Foreign Studies University (TFSU), concluded after two weeks of intensive learning and engagement. The initiative brought together 24 faculty members from universities across Pakistan, aiming to enhance academic capacity and foster knowledge exchange.

The programme was organized under the CPEC University Consortium, a joint platform established by the Higher Education Commission and the China Association of Higher Education to strengthen higher education cooperation and research collaboration between the two nations.

Addressing the opening ceremony, TFSU President Li Yingying described the training as a comprehensive exploration of emerging domains such as artificial intelligence-driven education, intelligent manufacturing, and China’s craftsmanship ethos. She encouraged participants to play a leading role in driving digital transformation in Pakistan’s higher education sector and contribute to the high-quality development of CPEC. She also noted that the initiative aligns with activities commemorating 75 years of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China.

Director General (Global Engagement) at the Higher Education Commission, Aayesha Ikram, highlighted the Commission’s commitment to promoting quality, inclusion, and impact in higher education. She noted that organizing a second programme within a short span reflects the growing trust and depth of academic cooperation between Pakistan and China.

Deputy Secretary-General of the China Association of Higher Education, Gao Xiaojie, reiterated the enduring partnership between the two countries and emphasized the Consortium’s role in advancing collaborative research, capacity building, and talent development in emerging fields.

Representing the participants, Dr Abdul Samad from the University of Loralai expressed appreciation for the programme, noting that it provided valuable insights into digital transformation practices in Chinese universities and offered practical learning experiences for implementation in Pakistan.
