Police have arrested the principal of a private academy in Pir Wadhai after a female student accused him of sexual assault, prompting swift intervention from the federal minister for human rights.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), the student alleged that on May 21, the principal summoned her to the academy, where he raped her. A month later, she discovered she was pregnant. Fearing social stigma, the survivor initially remained silent but later revealed that the accused repeatedly assaulted her under the false promise of marriage. She further claimed that he secretly administered abortion medicines without her knowledge or consent.
Police confirmed the arrest and said the medical examination of the survivor has been initiated. The FIR has been registered under Section 376 (rape) and Section 338-A (causing miscarriage) of the Pakistan Penal Code.

Taking immediate notice of the case, Federal Minister for Human Rights Azam Nazeer Tarar directed authorities to conduct a transparent investigation. He emphasized that justice for the survivor must be ensured without delay and demanded a detailed report on the arrest and inquiry process.
