PMDC Launches Online Licensing System in Punjab

In a landmark move aimed at modernizing healthcare administration, the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has launched an online licensing system to streamline the registration process for medical and dental professionals in Punjab.

Under this new digital initiative, doctors will no longer be required to travel to Islamabad for registration. Instead, they can complete the entire process at the PMDC office in Lahore or through the newly introduced online portal. The shift is expected to significantly reduce logistical hurdles and wait times for medical practitioners.

PMDC President Dr Rizwan Taj called the rollout a “historic step” and assured that applicants would receive full support via the portal. “We are committed to making the registration process more accessible and transparent,” he said, adding that original certificates will now be delivered to applicants’ addresses via courier services.

The online system’s rollout will occur in phases across the country. The second phase will extend services to Peshawar and Karachi, followed by Jamshoro and Balochistan in the third phase. Multan is scheduled to be included in the fourth and final phase.
