PU Adopts QR Code Fee Payments with Raast Technology

In a significant step toward digital transformation, Punjab University (PU) has become the first public sector university in the country to implement QR code-based fee transactions. The initiative follows a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with JS Bank to digitize university fee challans using Zindigi’s Raast Dynamic QR system.

The signing ceremony took place at the Vice Chancellor’s Office on Wednesday, where PU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali and senior officials from JS Bank formalized the partnership.

Under the agreement, Punjab University will roll out Zindigi’s Raast Dynamic QR solution, enabling students to pay tuition and other dues digitally through mobile banking applications. The system promises real-time payment processing, reduced reliance on manual challan handling, and enhanced transparency and efficiency in financial transactions.

Speaking at the event, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali said the university is committed to adopting modern technologies to boost administrative efficiency and ease processes for students. “Digitizing fee challans through Raast Dynamic QR will make payments faster, more secure, and more convenient for both students and their parents,” he stated.

He added that the initiative supports PU’s broader vision of a cashless and paperless campus, aiming to cut down queues at banks and streamline financial operations.
