PU ASA Raises Alarm Over Town-3 Scam

The Punjab University Academic Staff Association (PU ASA) has raised serious concerns over an alleged Rs 20 billion scam in the PU Town-3 housing project, demanding a full audit of its accounts and immediate delivery of promised plots to victims.

In a statement, ASA President Prof Dr Amjad Abbas Magsi criticized the Town-3 Management Committee for failing to share details of billions of rupees collected from PU teachers and employees. He alleged that the committee has not accounted for expenditures incurred in the purchase of land for Town-3, nor has it provided transparency regarding the use of members’ funds.

Dr Magsi further demanded that the profit generated from members’ contributions be distributed among them, condemning the reported transfer of university land to a private housing society without consulting ASA.

He noted with concern that even after nine years, teachers and employees remain deprived of their rightful plots, terming the situation as a grave injustice. “We stand firmly with Town-3 victims in this difficult time, and accountability for the embezzlement of billions is urgently needed,” he stated.
