The Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) across Punjab have jointly announced the result schedule for the 2025 annual exams for classes 9 and 10. According to the official statement, the highly anticipated matriculation (10th class) results will be declared on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at 10:00 AM. The names of top-performing students will be revealed a day earlier, on July 23, via board websites and celebratory award ceremonies.
In contrast, the 9th class results have been scheduled for nearly a month later—August 20, 2025—raising questions about the considerable gap in announcement dates for two examinations conducted simultaneously.
Over half a million students appeared in the matric exams held in March across Punjab. Board officials claim that the evaluation and result compilation processes have been completed well in time. Results will be accessible through multiple channels, including official websites, SMS services, and printed gazettes.
While the timely release of 10th class results has been welcomed, the delay in announcing 9th class results has drawn criticism from students, parents, and education observers alike. Many question why two closely linked exams, conducted and checked concurrently, are treated with such disparity in result announcements—adding unnecessary anxiety and confusion for younger students.

Despite the transparency and multi-channel access promised by the boards, the inconsistent scheduling highlights deeper administrative inefficiencies in the province’s examination system. As Punjab’s education boards celebrate the completion of another academic cycle, they must also reflect on the growing demand for fairer, more synchronized processes that place student welfare at the center.
