Punjab Orders Province-Wide Promotions for Teachers

The Punjab government has taken decisive action to resolve long-pending service matters by directing the completion of promotions for more than 300,000 teachers and government employees across the province. The move aims to address grievances that have persisted for years, particularly among staff whose career progression had been stalled.

According to an official notification issued by the Directorate of Public Instruction (Elementary) Punjab, all eligible personnel from grades 1 to 16 must receive their promotions within the next month. Promotion orders have been forwarded to Chief Executive Officers in every district with strict instructions to ensure timely implementation.

Authorities have been instructed to expedite the clearance of pending promotion files and avoid bureaucratic delays. The department has also cautioned that disciplinary action will be taken against officials responsible for negligence, unnecessary delay, or non-compliance with the directive.
