Punjab Targets Digital Employment for Rural Women

The Punjab government has launched a new phase of its “Mein Digital” program, reinforcing its commitment to creating sustainable digital employment opportunities for educated women living in rural areas of the province.

The initiative, led by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and implemented through the Punjab Skills Development Fund (PSDF) in collaboration with other government partners, aims to equip women with market-relevant digital skills that enable them to earn from home. Officials say the program is designed to reduce structural barriers to employment while improving economic inclusion and financial independence for women across rural Punjab.

Under the latest phase, selected candidates will receive structured digital skills training over a six-month period. To support participants during the training, a monthly stipend of PKR 5,000 will be provided. A total of 2,000 seats have been announced, with authorities noting that strong public interest has prompted a limited application window.

Eligibility criteria require applicants to have at least 16 years of education, belong to rural areas of Punjab, fall between the ages of 21 and 40, and successfully clear an entry test as part of the selection process.
