Punjab Unveils Targeted Curriculum for Class 9 in 2026–27

The Punjab government has announced selective updates to the school curriculum for the 2026–27 academic year, focusing on specific subjects at the secondary level. According to the Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board (PCTB), most textbooks for Class 9 will remain unchanged, with revisions confined to Computer Science and Entrepreneurship (Tech).

Under the new directive, the Computer Science syllabus for Grade 9 will be reviewed and updated prior to printing to ensure relevance to current technological trends. In addition, the page count of both Computer Science and Entrepreneurship textbooks will be reduced as part of the revision process. The PCTB has instructed publishers to revise printing orders accordingly and has directed educational institutions to implement the updated materials without delay.

Officials said the targeted changes are intended to equip students with modern, practical knowledge, promote creative and critical thinking, and better align classroom learning with contemporary academic and industry requirements.
