QAU Goes Paperless with Launch of e-Office System

Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU) has taken a major step toward institutional modernization with the launch of its Digital Office Management System, commonly known as the e-Office system, alongside a comprehensive training workshop for faculty and administrative staff.

The initiative was formally inaugurated by Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Niaz Akhtar and attended by senior university management and distinguished alumni. Prominent alumni, including Rehan Saeed Khan, Azam Habib, Dr Ghulam Ali Mallah, and Dr Shahzad Ali Gill, participated in the event, underscoring strong alumni backing for the university’s long-term digital transformation agenda.

The newly introduced e-Office system represents a decisive shift from traditional paper-based workflows to a secure, efficient, and transparent digital environment across academic and administrative offices. Through the Digital Office Management System, users can digitally create, process, forward, track, and archive official files, significantly improving speed, coordination, and decision-making.

A central feature of the system is the personalized digital workspace, known as “My Desk,” which provides real-time visibility of pending tasks, urgent matters, and completed actions. Integrated audit trails and document tracking mechanisms enhance transparency, accountability, and governance, aligning the university with best practices in modern public-sector management.

University officials noted that the system will substantially reduce administrative workload, minimize procedural delays, and ensure reliable access to official records. The move also supports QAU’s environmental sustainability goals by reducing paper consumption and promoting a greener campus.

The e-Office initiative has been generously contributed and supported by QAU alumni, reflecting their strong sense of ownership and commitment to the institution’s progress. University leadership emphasized that the active participation of faculty and staff will be crucial in fully realizing the system’s benefits and embedding a culture of digital efficiency and professionalism.
