The University of Sargodha (UoS) marked Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day with patriotic fervor, uniting faculty, students, and staff under the theme “Marka-e-Haq.” The celebrations reflected national zeal and a spirit of solidarity, beginning with a Guard of Honor presented by the University Security Wing. Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Qaisar Abbas, who served as the chief guest, hoisted the national flag alongside Pro Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Masood Sarwar Awan, Registrar Waqar Ahmad, deans, directors, and other academic and administrative leaders. A cake-cutting ceremony and heartfelt prayers for the country’s prosperity further enriched the occasion.
Students heightened the atmosphere with stirring national songs, evoking deep patriotic sentiments among the audience. Addressing the gathering, Prof Dr Qaisar Abbas emphasized that Independence Day is a moment of reflection and renewed commitment to Pakistan’s progress and stability. He honored the Armed Forces for their sacrifices, acknowledging their role in safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty and praising their recent success in the “Markah-e-Haq” operation against Indian aggression.

To complement the day’s festivities, the Directorate of Sports organized lively competitions including basketball, football, and cricket matches, along with karate demonstrations, adding vibrancy and excitement to the celebrations. The event concluded with renewed pledges of unity and dedication to Pakistan’s bright future.
