Students Brace for Long Winter Holidays in Murree

Murree and Kotli Sattian residents will face an unusually long winter break this year as the district administration has announced extended vacations for all educational institutions.

According to a notification from the Punjab Education Department (SED), shared by the CEO of the District Education Authority Murree, winter holidays will start on December 22 and continue until March 7. Schools and colleges, both public and private, are scheduled to reopen on March 9.

Authorities have instructed school and college heads to complete midterm examinations before the holidays begin and to release results before the closure.

Officials emphasized that the extended break is intended to safeguard students, teachers, and staff from the severe and prolonged winter conditions typical of the hilly regions, which often disrupt daily life and commuting during this season.
