The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Bannu, BISE Peshawar and BISE Dera Ismail Khan have postponed several matriculation and Oriental Languages examination papers scheduled for October 7 to 10, citing security concerns and disruptions to mobile and internet services.
BISE Peshawar has postponed all SSC Annual-II and Oriental Languages papers scheduled for October 7, 8, 9 and 10. The board said revised dates for the postponed papers would be announced separately, while examinations scheduled after October 10 would continue according to the existing date sheet.
BISE Bannu has also postponed SSC Annual-II and Oriental Languages papers scheduled during the same four days. The decision affects students in Bannu, Lakki Marwat and North Waziristan.
The Bannu board said the suspension of mobile phone and internet services could create difficulties for students, parents, teachers and examination staff. It could also disrupt the distribution of roll numbers, duty letters and other examination-related information, as well as the delivery of examination stationery to centres.
The board said conducting examinations under the prevailing circumstances could affect their smooth and transparent administration. The postponed papers will be rescheduled, with a revised date sheet to be issued separately.
Meanwhile, BISE Dera Ismail Khan has postponed matriculation examination papers scheduled from October 7 to 10. Controller Examinations Qaiser Anwar said the examinations would now begin on October 12.
The decision in DI Khan comes amid a three-day suspension of mobile phone services in the district. The postponements come as several parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa continue to face security challenges.
