Thousands Rally at UAJK Against India’s War Hysteria

In a striking display of unity and patriotism, thousands of students, faculty, and staff from the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (UAJK) took to the streets on Tuesday to denounce what they termed as India’s “war hysteria” and “water terrorism.”

The rally, organized under the slogan “One Voice, One Soul – Pakistan, Pakistan! Labbaik Ya Muhafizeen-e-Watan!”, was spearheaded by UAJK Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Nadeem Haider Bukhari. Participants waved Pakistani flags and held placards condemning Indian actions, chanting slogans in support of the Pakistan Armed Forces and demanding international attention to the deteriorating regional peace.

Starting from the Admin Block of the Chehla Campus and culminating at the Education Block, the rally aimed to voice outrage over India’s alleged violations of the Indus Waters Treaty and its response to the recent Pahalgam incident in Indian-administered Kashmir, which organizers claimed is being used as a pretext to escalate regional tensions.

Addressing the crowd, Prof Bukhari accused India of aggressive posturing and warned that threats to abrogate the Indus Waters Treaty could destabilize the region. “The armed forces of Pakistan are the shield of the nation, and the people stand firmly behind them,” he declared. He also emphasized the role of university youth in defending Pakistan’s ideological and strategic frontiers.

Registrar Prof Dr Saadat Hanif Dar also spoke at the event, calling for greater national unity and vigilance. “India’s disinformation campaigns will be countered with truth and knowledge,” he said, praising the students’ involvement as evidence of a politically aware and engaged generation.

Several students addressed the crowd as well, voicing their readiness to defend national sovereignty and calling on the international community to recognize and respond to India’s alleged human rights violations and environmental aggression.

The UAJK rally marks one of the most significant public mobilizations in the region in recent months, underscoring growing tensions and heightened nationalistic sentiment amid strained Pakistan-India relations.
