In his first official address since assuming office, the new Vice-Chancellor of the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (UAJK), Prof Dr Nasir Jamal Khattak, laid out an ambitious roadmap for academic excellence, institutional development, and student-focused progress.
Chairing a meeting with academic and administrative heads, Prof Dr Khattak emphasized the critical role the university plays in shaping the future of young people. “The University is not just an academic institution — it is a trust given to us by thousands of parents who send their children here with dreams of a better tomorrow,” he said. “We must rise to the expectations of these parents and students who look towards us with hope, trust, and confidence.”
Prof Dr Khattak called for a renewed commitment to punctuality, academic discipline, and professional integrity. He urged faculty members to maintain regular classroom engagement and to mentor students actively. Addressing administrative staff, he stressed the importance of delivering efficient services that create a supportive environment for learning and research.
The Vice-Chancellor underlined that institutional success is rooted in collaboration, mutual respect, and shared responsibility. “This institution belongs to all of us,” he stated. “Its progress depends on our collective wisdom, hard work, and unity of purpose.”
The meeting also served as a platform for open dialogue, with faculty and staff warmly welcoming Prof Dr Khattak and expressing confidence in his leadership. They pledged their full cooperation in advancing UAJK’s mission and enhancing its academic and research reputation.
