UMT and Oxford Education Group Agree on Global Partnership

The University of Management and Technology (UMT) and the Oxford Education Group have agreed to establish a global partnership aimed at strengthening international collaboration in higher education, research, and student development.

The agreement was discussed during a meeting between UMT President Ibrahim Hasan Murad and Oxford Education Group Chairman Sarwar Khawaja, where both sides reviewed global trends in higher education and the growing role of private universities on the international academic stage.

Speaking at the meeting, Ibrahim Hasan Murad underscored the importance of international partnerships in ensuring quality education, advancing research, and fostering the holistic development of students. He said such collaborations are critical for aligning Pakistan’s higher education sector with global standards and for providing local students access to international academic opportunities that enhance their competitiveness worldwide.

Sarwar Khawaja emphasized that expanding research, innovation, and academic collaboration is essential for a sustainable future. He announced that practical steps would be taken to introduce leading UK educational institutions in Pakistan, a move expected to deepen academic ties between the two countries.

He noted that collaboration between Pakistani and British institutions would help raise academic standards while opening new avenues for students and faculty through joint research initiatives, exchange programs, and collaborative projects.
