The University of Management and Technology (UMT) is abuzz with literary excitement as its Annual Book Fair 2025 continues to attract large crowds of students, faculty members, and citizens. Organized by the Khurram Murad Learning Resource Center, the three-day event has become one of the university’s most anticipated traditions, celebrating knowledge, culture, and the joy of reading.
The fair was inaugurated by Dr Asghar Zaidi, Provost of UMT, who officially opened the event by cutting the ribbon. In his remarks at the opening ceremony, Dr Zaidi highlighted the importance of cultivating a lifelong relationship with books, emphasizing that reading nurtures creativity, refines thought, and leads to personal and academic success. He noted that the primary goal of the book fair is to promote intellectual curiosity and strengthen the culture of reading across the academic community.
Accompanied by Chief Librarian Rafiq Awan and his team, Dr Zaidi visited various stalls and interacted with publishers and exhibitors. More than 50 leading publishers, booksellers, and educational companies from across Pakistan are participating in the fair, offering a diverse selection of books on literature, education, science, business, technology, social sciences, and artificial intelligence.
In addition to book displays, the event features literary sessions, book exchange stalls, and thought-provoking dialogues organized by the UMT Readers Club. These activities aim to foster critical thinking, creativity, and community engagement among participants.
