The University of Management and Technology (UMT) has achieved another notable milestone by maintaining its strong presence in the Times Higher Education (THE) Subject Rankings 2026, further reinforcing Pakistan’s growing recognition in the global academic landscape.
According to the latest rankings, UMT secured positions across seven key academic disciplines, demonstrating consistent progress in research, teaching quality and academic development. The university was ranked in the 401–500 band globally in the Clinical and Health category, reflecting its expanding contribution to health-related research and education.
In Business and Economics, UMT earned a place within the 501–600 bracket, while it maintained similar positions in both Physical Sciences and Engineering. These rankings underscore the institution’s sustained focus on strengthening its core academic programs and research output.
Additionally, UMT was placed in the 601–800 range globally in Computer Science, Social Sciences and Life Sciences, highlighting the breadth of its academic portfolio and its commitment to multidisciplinary excellence.
President UMT, Ibrahim Hasan Murad, congratulated the university’s faculty, students and administration on the achievement, stating that the recognition reflects a positive development for Pakistan’s higher education sector. He emphasized that the university’s success is rooted in its long-term research strategies, quality teaching practices and effective academic planning.
Murad further noted that UMT remains committed to enhancing Pakistan’s global academic standing by promoting innovation, strengthening research capacity and delivering world-class education. He added that the institution will continue to build on its achievements and expand its impact on the international stage.
