UMT Hosts Turkish Diplomat to Boost Academic Links

Turkish Consul General Mehmet Eymen Simsek visited the University of Management and Technology (UMT), where he held an important meeting with UMT President and former Provincial Minister Ibrahim Hassan Murad. The discussion centered on enhancing bilateral cooperation in education, technology and other mutually significant sectors.

During the meeting at UMT’s Johar Town Campus, Ibrahim Hassan Murad highlighted the long-standing and emotionally rooted ties between Pakistan and Türkiye. He said the two nations enjoy stronger bonds of brotherhood, trust and cultural affinity today than ever before. Murad stressed the importance of expanding academic, trade and cultural collaboration, stating that deeper cooperation would further solidify the strategic partnership between the two countries.

Consul General Mehmet Eymen Simsek praised Murad’s contributions to Pakistan’s education landscape and acknowledged UMT’s Erdogan Scholarships for Turkish students as a meaningful step toward educational exchange. He also pointed to potential joint ventures in IT and other key sectors, reaffirming Türkiye’s commitment to institutional and developmental partnerships with Pakistan.

Simsek noted that enhanced collaboration between the two nations would unlock new avenues for development, innovation and shared prosperity.
