UMT Leads Anti-Corruption Drive with Awareness Seminar

The University of Management and Technology (UMT), in collaboration with the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore, organized an Anti-Bribery Awareness Seminar aimed at promoting integrity and ethical values among youth. Chairman NAB, Lt. Gen. (R) Nazir Ahmed, attended the event as the chief guest.

The seminar was attended by Director General NAB Lahore Mirza Faran Baig, former provincial minister and President UMT Ibrahim Hasan Murad, Rector UMT Dr Asif Raza, Chief Advisor Lt. Gen. (R) Javed Hasan, senior NAB officers, as well as a large number of students and faculty members.

In his welcome address, President UMT Ibrahim Hasan Murad emphasized that young people are the future of the nation and their moral and ethical development is a pressing national need. He stated that integrity and transparency are the foundations of strong leadership and stressed that the eradication of bribery and corruption is essential for sustainable national development. He also acknowledged NAB’s role in strengthening the rule of law through effective accountability.

DG NAB Lahore Mirza Faran Baig highlighted NAB Lahore’s preventive strategy, noting that awareness seminars, engagement with educational institutions and a robust complaint redressal mechanism have yielded positive results. He said public awareness against corruption remains NAB’s top priority and praised UMT for its constructive contribution to this national cause.

Addressing the gathering, Chairman NAB Lt. Gen. (R) Nazir Ahmed said that strong character, self-accountability and ethical values are the cornerstones of a corruption-free society. He noted that NAB has reinforced transparent and impartial accountability mechanisms, leading to improved institutional performance and greater public trust. He also appreciated UMT’s initiatives aimed at character building among students.

At the conclusion of the seminar, President UMT Ibrahim Hasan Murad presented commemorative souvenirs to the Chairman NAB and the Director General NAB Lahore.
