The University of Management and Technology (UMT) hosted a high-level seminar examining the escalating tensions involving the United States, Israel, and Iran, and their far-reaching implications for Pakistan and the broader Middle East. Organized by the Department of Political Science and International Relations, the event brought together leading defense analysts, diplomats, scholars, and students to assess emerging geopolitical realities.

Air Commodore (R) Khalid Chishti highlighted the evolving regional security environment, warning that Pakistan may confront complex challenges linked to economic stability, energy security, trade routes, and maritime interests. He stressed the need for a comprehensive and forward-looking national strategy to navigate these pressures.
Orya Maqbool Jan observed that Arab nations are likely to adopt strategic measures to safeguard their economies and diplomatic influence as global dynamics continue to shift. Meanwhile, former Ambassador Jauhar Saleem pointed to the long-standing tensions between Israel and Iran, noting that efforts to curb Iran’s nuclear ambitions remain a central factor driving instability, with potential repercussions for the global economy.
