The University of Education (UoE) Lahore, has successfully concluded its two-day flagship research conference, “Resurgence 2026,” with a renewed commitment to advancing research, innovation, entrepreneurship, and international academic collaboration.
The closing ceremony was attended by the Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Lahore, Mr Sun Yun, as the chief guest. The event also brought together the Chairman of the Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC), the Secretaries of School Education and Special Education, vice chancellors of leading universities, policymakers, researchers, industry representatives, faculty members, and students.
Over the course of the conference, researchers from the UoE presented innovative research findings, policy recommendations, and startup ideas in emerging fields, including Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence (AI), science, and other cutting-edge disciplines. The discussions focused on addressing evolving global challenges while promoting innovation-driven solutions.
A major highlight of the conference was the introduction of the University’s newly established Business Incubation Center (BIC), designed to support student entrepreneurs by transforming innovative ideas into sustainable business ventures. The center will offer mentorship, networking opportunities, and entrepreneurial guidance to help students commercialize their innovations.
The University also honored its research community by presenting certificates and shields to more than 30 distinguished researchers in recognition of their outstanding contributions to research and innovation.
Addressing the ceremony, Chinese Consul General Mr Sun Yun said the presence of Chinese students at the University of Education reflects the growing educational partnership between Pakistan and China. He praised the University’s efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation through higher education, research, and innovation, expressing confidence that collaboration between academic institutions of both countries would continue to expand in emerging technologies and scientific research.
Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Aqif Anwar Chaudhry highlighted the University’s remarkable research progress over the past year, attributing its success to the strong performance of the Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC) and the University’s researchers.
He revealed that 14 faculty members of the University have been recognized among the world’s top 2% scientists, calling it a landmark achievement that reflects the institution’s growing research excellence. He added that the University has also secured prominent positions in national and international rankings, further strengthening its reputation for quality education and impactful research.
Prof Dr Aqif Anwar Chaudhry said the newly launched Business Incubation Center will promote entrepreneurship, innovation, and commercialization by equipping students with the resources needed to develop successful startups. He also reaffirmed the University’s commitment to providing affordable, modern, and high-quality education through its campuses located across seven cities of Punjab.

The conference concluded with a shared commitment among participants to enhance research collaboration, encourage innovation, and promote entrepreneurship to address national and global challenges. A large number of academicians, researchers, students, and industry representatives attended the event.
