In a significant meeting on Wednesday, Wifaqul Madaris Al-Arabia, Pakistan’s largest board for Deeni Madaris, announced a series of new regulations for its affiliated seminaries. The session was chaired by the council’s chairman, Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani.
The council made a decisive move to reject modern education methods, declaring that online learning systems will not be accepted in its affiliated religious schools. It has also demanded reports to investigate the current use of such systems.
In a key statement on national affairs, the council took a firm stance against anti-state violence. It explicitly condemned taking up arms in the name of implementing Sharia, emphasizing that peaceful political struggle is the only legitimate path for this goal.
The meeting also reinforced strict religious and behavioral codes for students. It was resolved that any student who shaves his beard will be barred from taking their annual examinations.
