Fawad Alam, a blind Class-VI student of the Visually Handicapped Centre under the Directorate General of Special Education (DGSE) Islamabad, has emerged as the national winner of “Pak Got Talent 2026,” marking a significant achievement for inclusive education in Pakistan.
Fawad’s victory has been welcomed as a powerful demonstration of the abilities and potential of children with disabilities when they are provided with equal opportunities, appropriate support and an enabling environment.
The young student’s success also reflects the sustained efforts of his parents, teachers and mentors, whose guidance, encouragement and support helped him develop his talent and compete successfully at the national level.
The grand finale of the talent competition was broadcast on national television, bringing Fawad’s achievement to audiences across the country. His success has also placed a spotlight on the role of special education institutions in identifying, nurturing and providing platforms for talented children with disabilities.
The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training (MoFEPT) and the Directorate General of Special Education have described Fawad’s accomplishment as a particularly proud moment, as a student from a Special Education Centre in Islamabad has reached a major national platform and secured the top title.
Fawad’s achievement carries a broader message for Pakistan’s education system: disability should not determine a child’s opportunities or limit their aspirations. With accessible education, confidence, mentorship and the right platforms, children with disabilities can compete and excel alongside their peers.
