GCUF and KUST Sign MoU for Academic Collaboration

In a move aimed at bolstering inter-university academic cooperation, Government College University Faisalabad (GCUF) and Kohat University of Science and Technology (KUST) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote joint research, faculty exchange, and advanced academic collaboration.

The agreement was formalized during an official visit by Prof Dr Syed Zafar Ilyas, Vice Chancellor of KUST, to the GCUF campus. Prof Dr Rauf-i-Azam, Vice Chancellor of GCUF, and Dr Ilyas signed the MoU in a ceremony attended by senior faculty and researchers.

The MoU focuses on strengthening collaboration in key scientific disciplines including Physics, Chemistry, and allied sciences. It lays the foundation for joint research initiatives, sharing of laboratory and technical facilities, faculty development programs, and enhanced research opportunities for postgraduate students (MPhil/PhD).

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Rauf-i-Azam highlighted the importance of institutional partnerships in driving innovation and elevating research standards. “This MoU represents a strategic alliance to foster scientific inquiry, build research capacity, and contribute meaningfully to national and global academic landscapes,” he said.

Dr Syed Zafar Ilyas praised GCUF’s research infrastructure, particularly within the Department of Physics, and expressed eagerness to initiate collaborative projects. “Empowering young researchers with advanced tools and shared platforms is essential for addressing the scientific challenges of our time,” he remarked.
