IBA Partners with PNSC to Launch PKR 10 Million Scholarship

In a landmark move to enhance access to higher education, the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi has partnered with the Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC) to establish a scholarship endowment aimed at nurturing future leaders from underserved communities.

PNSC has contributed PKR 10 million to IBA Karachi for the creation of a perpetual scholarship endowment, ensuring long-term, sustainable financial support for deserving students.

The cheque handover ceremony took place at IBA’s Main Campus, where Mr Sultan A. Chawla, Chairman of PNSC, officially presented the donation to Dr S Akbar Zaidi, Executive Director of IBA Karachi. The event marked the beginning of what both institutions described as a long-term collaboration centered on social impact and capacity building.

Dr Zaidi lauded PNSC’s generous contribution, highlighting its alignment with IBA’s mission to provide inclusive, need-based educational opportunities to talented individuals across Pakistan.

“This partnership is a testament to the power of collaboration in creating lasting social change,” said Dr Zaidi. “It reflects our shared commitment to empowering youth through education.”

Notable attendees from PNSC included Mr Syed Jarar Haider Kazmi, Executive Director (Finance); Capt Mustafa Kizilbash, Executive Director (Commercial); and Mr Mustafa Bilal Kazi, Convenor CSR. Representing IBA were Ms Malahat Awan, Director ARC; Mr Moeid Sultan, Director Finance; and Mr Irfan Qamar, Director HR.

The scholarship endowment is expected to make a meaningful difference by enabling generations of bright, underprivileged students to access quality education at one of Pakistan’s leading academic institutions.

Through this initiative, IBA and PNSC reaffirm their dedication to shaping a more equitable future—one scholarship at a time.
