In a major step towards empowering the youth, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur announced the restoration of student unions across the province, reported by 24NewsHD. Speaking at a ceremony in Peshawar, the chief minister emphasized that despite limited resources, his administration is committed to enhancing educational opportunities by increasing scholarships for students.
“Justice is fundamental to resolving all societal issues,” said Gandapur, pointing to the adverse effects of deprivation on national development. Addressing Pakistan’s challenging economic situation, he added, “Pakistan is in debt; we cannot make our own decisions.” He stressed that resilience and courage are essential to overcoming setbacks, discouraging a culture of despair following failure.
In his remarks, Gandapur underscored the value of student unions as vital platforms for youth empowerment and leadership. He believes their reestablishment will encourage active participation in societal issues and nurture future leaders. “The competitive spirit and innovation are critical for progress,” he noted, underscoring the need to instill these qualities in students.
The chief minister also spoke about the challenges faced by those who advocate for their constitutional rights, often risking imprisonment. He assured that the government is dedicated to the ongoing struggle for true freedom, hinting at an imminent turning point in this journey.
This initiative marks a renewed focus on youth development in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with the restoration of student unions and an increase in scholarships aimed at building a brighter future.
