The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has appointed new vice chancellors for 16 public universities across the province in a bid to strengthen institutional leadership and ensure academic continuity.
Among the key appointments, Professor Dr Muhammad Ali has been named Vice Chancellor of Hazara University Mansehra, while Dr Muhammad Tahir Khalili will lead Khushal Khan Khattak University Karak. Dr Aurangzeb Khan has been chosen to head the University of Lakki Marwat, and Dr Tahir Irfan will assume charge at Abbottabad University of Science and Technology.
In the engineering and technology sector, Dr Gul Muhammad Khan has been appointed at UET Mardan, and Dr Muhammad Siddique at UET Peshawar. Dr Dawood Jan will lead the University of Agriculture Swat, whereas Dr Shakibullah has been assigned to the Veterinary and Animal Sciences University Swat.
Other key appointments include Dr Sardar Khan at the University of Shangla, Dr Johar Ali at the University of Peshawar, and Dr Jamil Ahmed at Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan. Dr Saeed Bacha will take charge at the University of Nowshera, and Dr Muhammad Jahanzeb Khan at the University of Science and Technology Bannu.
In a move toward improving gender representation in academia, Dr Ghazala Yasmin has been appointed as the Vice Chancellor of Women’s University Swabi. Additionally, Dr Zahoor-ul-Haq will lead Bacha Khan University Charsadda, and Dr Syed Zafar Ilyas will serve as Vice Chancellor of the University of Science and Technology Kohat.
