National Curriculum Summit 2026 for Future-Ready Education

The National Curriculum Summit 2026 convened senior policymakers, education leaders, and key stakeholders in Islamabad to outline a unified strategy for transforming Pakistan’s education system into a progressive, inclusive, and future-ready framework aligned with global standards.

The summit featured Minister of State for Federal Education and Professional Training Ms Wajiha Qamar, Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Prof Ahsan Iqbal, and Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training (MoFEPT) Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui. The high-level gathering focused on aligning national curriculum reforms with technological advancement, innovation, and the demands of the evolving digital economy.

Addressing participants, the ministers underscored the urgency of strengthening policy coherence and embedding critical thinking, creativity, and digital competencies into the national curriculum. They stressed that education reform must move beyond conventional content delivery to prepare students with practical, market-relevant skills that support Pakistan’s long-term socio-economic development.

Prof. Ahsan Iqbal highlighted the strategic importance of human capital development, emphasizing that sustained curriculum reform is central to national growth and competitiveness. He noted that modern education systems must integrate science, technology, and innovation as core components of learning outcomes.

Ms Wajiha Qamar reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to professional training and youth empowerment initiatives, aimed at equipping students to navigate future challenges in an increasingly technology-driven world. She emphasized inclusive access to quality education as a foundational pillar for equitable development.

Federal Minister Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui called for innovation-driven learning environments and curriculum modernization that reflect global trends while addressing local needs. He stressed collaboration between federal institutions, academia, and industry to ensure curriculum frameworks remain responsive to emerging professional and technological demands.
