In a significant step toward expanding access to higher education, KITAAS Institute and Tabeer Foundation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at providing scholarship opportunities to talented students from financially disadvantaged backgrounds. The partnership seeks to remove financial barriers that prevent deserving students from pursuing professional education and building successful careers.
Under the agreement, KITAAS will provide 15 fully funded scholarships annually for students nominated by Tabeer Foundation. The scholarships will be distributed equally across three key academic programs, including Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT), Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT), and Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm-D), with five seats allocated to each discipline.
According to the agreement, the scholarships will cover tuition fees and other academic charges in accordance with the institution’s policies.
Chairperson of the Board of Governors at KITAAS, Prof Dr Mohammad NizamudDin, said the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to making quality education accessible to students with financial constraints.
He added that the institution may also reserve up to five additional seats in each program, subject to availability. For these seats, Tabeer Foundation will contribute 50 percent of the educational costs, while KITAAS will facilitate admissions and provide academic support to enrolled students.
Dr NizamudDin explained that Tabeer Foundation will oversee the identification and selection of deserving candidates through a transparent process. The foundation will also assist students during admissions and ensure the completion of all required documentation.
KITAAS, meanwhile, will manage admissions according to its academic policies, provide a supportive learning environment, and monitor the academic progress of scholarship recipients.
Both organizations have also agreed to collaborate on educational initiatives and community development activities to create broader social impact.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Chief Executive Officer of Tabeer Foundation Dr Mohammad Shahid Soroya emphasized the importance of partnerships in expanding educational opportunities and empowering young people to contribute positively to society.
The event was attended by Director Board of Trustees Jahan Ara Nizam, Member Board of Trustees Dr Sidra Maqsooq, KITAAS Director General Dr Bushra Inayat Rajpoot, Tabeer Foundation Director Tariq Waseem, Shehzad Roshan Gillani, and other distinguished guests.
