PU’s Dr Lubna calls on Pakistani Ambassador in Japan

Prof Dr Lubna Zaheer, Chairperson of the Punjab University (PU) Department of Film and Broadcasting, met with H.E. Raza Bashir Tarar, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Japan, during her visit to the country to strengthen academic and cultural connections between the two nations.

Ambassador Tarar warmly welcomed Dr Zaheer and emphasized the importance of the strong diplomatic ties between Pakistan and Japan. Their discussion focused on the rich cultural heritage and academic achievements of Japan, as well as potential partnerships between universities in both countries.

A key objective of the meeting was exploring opportunities for academic exchange and collaboration. Dr Zaheer sought the ambassador’s support in connecting Punjab University’s Film and Broadcasting Department with leading Japanese universities. Ambassador Tarar expressed his full commitment to facilitating such partnerships, opening avenues for future academic growth and joint research.

The discussion also touched upon broader issues such as human resource exchange, addressing the needs of the Pakistani community in Japan, and the embassy’s role in enhancing bilateral cooperation.

During her visit, Dr Zaheer also met with Pakistani students currently studying in Japan on scholarships. These interactions provided valuable insights into the students’ experiences and the academic opportunities available at Japanese institutions.
