Sargodha University Hosts Future Innovator Contest 2024

The University of Sargodha (UoS) hosted the much-anticipated “Future Innovator Contest 2024,” where 100 groundbreaking ideas from universities across Pakistan were showcased. The contest, which aims to promote innovation and entrepreneurship among university students, was inaugurated by Punjab’s Minister for Higher Education, Rana Sikandar Hayat, in the presence of several parliamentarians and senior university officials.

The opening ceremony featured prominent figures, including Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Qaisar Abbas, Pro Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Ghulam Yasin, and various deans and directors of the University of Sargodha. Addressing the gathering, Prof Dr Qaisar Abbas emphasized the university’s achievements under his leadership, highlighting key reforms introduced during his two-year tenure. These reforms, he said, have focused on enhancing the quality of education, encouraging entrepreneurship, and fostering research, innovation, and commercialization.

“Through initiatives like the Future Innovator Contest, we are enabling students to translate their academic knowledge into practical solutions that benefit society. Our goal is to create a dynamic environment where innovation thrives,” said Prof Dr Qaisar Abbas.

The Higher Education Minister, Rana Sikandar Hayat, lauded the university’s efforts in nurturing a culture of research and innovation, noting that such initiatives are crucial for the academic and professional development of students. He praised Prof Dr Qaisar Abbas for his visionary leadership and assured continued governmental support to bolster research and development activities at the university.

During his visit, Rana Sikandar Hayat also inaugurated the newly constructed gymnasium and cafeterias on campus, further demonstrating the university’s commitment to student welfare and development. These new facilities are part of the university’s broader strategy to provide a well-rounded academic and social environment for its students.

The Future Innovator Contest 2024 concluded with participants receiving recognition for their innovative projects, marking another successful chapter in the University of Sargodha’s journey towards becoming a hub of innovation and academic excellence in Pakistan.
