Forman Christian College (FCCU) celebrated a major academic milestone on Saturday as 1,270 students graduated during its Commencement 2025 ceremony held in Lahore. The event brought together faculty, staff, alumni, distinguished guests, and proud families to honor graduates receiving 987 bachelor’s, 270 postgraduate, and 13 PhD degrees across diverse academic disciplines.
Rector Dr Jonathan S Addleton presided over the convocation, with Dr Nayer Fardows serving as Director of Commencement 2025. The ceremony was attended by the Governor of the Punjab, His Excellency Sardar Saleem Haider Khan, who joined as the Chief Guest and congratulated graduates on reaching a defining moment in their academic journey.
The ceremony featured an inspiring valedictory address by undergraduate valedictorian Ms Noor Ul Ain, who reflected on her transformative years at FCCU and expressed gratitude to faculty, mentors, and families for their support. A series of academic and co-curricular awards were presented, including medals for excellence, Certificates of Distinction, Roll of Honor awards, and departmental recognitions.
In his address, Dr Addleton emphasized hope and faith as guiding principles for the graduating class, encouraging them to embrace the future with resilience, optimism, and purpose. He reiterated FCCU’s mission to nurture ethical individuals committed to service. The Governor highlighted the university’s 160-year legacy, praising its role in shaping Pakistan’s intellectual and social landscape. He urged graduates to carry forward this tradition by taking initiative, embracing responsibility, and understanding that meaningful destinies are built through consistent effort.
