UAE Introduces AI Education Across All Public Schools

Artificial Intelligence will officially be integrated into the national curriculum of all government schools in the UAE starting from the upcoming academic year, according to an announcement by UAE Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Sheikh Mohammed revealed that the UAE Cabinet has approved the final version of the AI curriculum, which will be implemented from kindergarten through grade 12. This initiative aligns with the country’s broader vision to prepare students for a technology-driven future.

The curriculum will address both technical and ethical dimensions of AI, covering topics such as data, algorithms, real-world applications, potential risks, and the impact of AI on everyday life. The aim is to help students understand how emerging technologies are reshaping modern society.

Sheikh Mohammed praised the Ministry of Education for its work on developing the curriculum and highlighted the urgency of adapting to global technological advancements. He reaffirmed that equipping the next generation with future-oriented skills is a national responsibility essential to the UAE’s progress and innovation.
