The University of Management and Technology (UMT) has achieved a significant milestone in the U.S. News & World Report Best Global Universities Rankings 2026, securing the 4th position among Pakistan’s private universities, 161st in Asia and 573rd globally.
The latest ranking marks another major achievement for UMT and highlights the university’s growing presence on the international academic landscape, particularly in education, research and innovation.
Chairman and President UMT Ibrahim Hasan Murad congratulated the university’s faculty, research scholars, students and administration on the achievement. He said UMT’s strong position in the global rankings reflected its commitment to maintaining high standards in education and research, along with the sustained efforts of the entire university community.
Ibrahim Murad described UMT’s continued achievements in education and research as a matter of pride for Pakistan, saying they demonstrated the potential of Pakistani universities to gain greater international recognition in education, research and innovation.

He stressed the importance of high-quality research, internationally relevant academic programmes and expanded opportunities for students and faculty to enhance Pakistan’s representation among leading global institutions.
