UMT Students Excel in National Skills Competency Test 2026

Students from the School of Systems and Technology at the University of Management and Technology (UMT) have delivered a remarkable performance in the National Skills Competency Test 2026 conducted by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan, securing top positions among more than 33,000 participants nationwide. The achievement highlights UMT’s growing reputation as a leader in technology-driven education in Pakistan.

The nationwide assessment, which saw participation from 199 universities, evaluated students across key emerging disciplines including Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Cyber Security. UMT students demonstrated exceptional competence across these fields, earning high scores and bringing significant recognition to the institution.

Among the standout performers were Rayyan Ijaz, Muhammad Abdullah, Muhammad Ali, Isha Tahir, Ayan Zeeshan, Ghulam Mustafa and Syed Burhan Ahmed. The top percentile achieved by UMT students reached an impressive 99.8, with seven students ranking among the top one percent of high scorers nationwide. Additionally, 70 students secured positions within the top ten percent, further underscoring the depth of talent within the university.

Chairman and President UMT, Ibrahim Hasan Murad, congratulated the students, faculty and the wider UMT community on the milestone. He stated that the success reflects not only the dedication and hard work of the students but also the strong academic mentorship provided by faculty members and the institution’s forward-looking educational vision.

Murad emphasized that UMT’s focus on modern, technology-driven education and practical skill development has played a critical role in achieving such outcomes. He noted that the university continues to maintain high academic standards while prioritizing industry-relevant competencies, positioning it among Pakistan’s leading private institutions in IT education.
