UMT Strengthens Huawei Partnership to Advance Digital Education

Chairman and President of the University of Management and Technology (UMT), Ibrahim Hasan Murad, visited the headquarters of leading global technology company Huawei in Shenzhen, China, to strengthen cooperation in education, research, artificial intelligence, innovation, and digital transformation.

During the visit, Ibrahim Hasan Murad was welcomed by Huawei’s senior leadership, where both sides discussed expanding their existing partnership and exploring new opportunities for collaboration in emerging technologies and academic development. The meetings also reviewed ongoing educational and technical initiatives between UMT and Huawei, with a focus on broadening cooperation in the years ahead.

The visit aimed to further deepen Pakistan-China relations while identifying new avenues for collaboration in education, technology, and research. Discussions centered on enhancing academic partnerships, promoting innovation, and preparing students for the rapidly evolving digital economy.

Speaking during the visit, Murad praised Huawei’s achievements in innovation, research, and technological advancement, describing the company as a global leader in driving digital transformation. He stressed that partnerships between academic institutions and internationally recognized technology organizations are essential for building a knowledge-based economy and accelerating Pakistan’s technological progress.

He emphasized that modern technologies are reshaping education, industry, and economic development worldwide, making it increasingly important to equip young people with digital skills, artificial intelligence expertise, and advanced technological knowledge.

Murad said collaboration with Huawei would create new opportunities for Pakistani students and professionals in areas such as artificial intelligence, digital innovation, research, and technical training. These opportunities, he noted, would help prepare Pakistani youth to compete effectively in the global marketplace.

Highlighting the importance of Pakistan-China cooperation, he said joint initiatives in education, research, and technology are opening new horizons for the youth of both countries and fostering innovation-driven growth.
