UMT Waives Fees for Flood-Affected Students

The University of Management and Technology (UMT) has launched a historic relief initiative to support students affected by recent floods, with tuition fees either waived or deferred to ensure that financial challenges do not interrupt their academic pursuits.

Announcing the initiative, UMT President and former Provincial Minister Ibrahim Hasan Murad emphasized the university’s mission of making education accessible and inclusive. “UMT has always been committed to turning students’ dreams into reality. With this relief package, we are ensuring that no student is left behind due to natural calamities,” he said.

Murad highlighted UMT’s extensive scholarship programs, which currently benefit 64% of students through more than 30 different schemes. To date, over 47,000 students have received substantial financial support.

He further noted that UMT places special focus on inclusivity, offering dedicated scholarships for minorities, students from Balochistan, refugees, orphans, and children of martyrs. Presently, 76% of students receive up to 50% scholarships, while 24% are granted full scholarships.

“UMT’s vision goes beyond Pakistan,” Murad added, pointing out that students from 110 districts across the country and 18 international locations are part of the university’s scholarship programs. “We are preparing future leaders who will not only contribute to Pakistan’s progress but also serve the global community.”
