Winter School Timings for Islamabad Announced by FDE

The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has announced new winter timings for all government educational institutions in Islamabad, effective from December 1, 2025, to January 31, 2026. The revised schedule aims to make school hours more convenient for students and staff as temperatures drop during the winter months.

Under the new timetable, single-shift schools will operate from 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM from Monday to Thursday, with Friday classes ending at 12:30 PM. Montessori and preparatory classes will run daily from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Early Childhood Education classes will follow staggered hours: ECE-I from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM and ECE-II from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM.

Double-shift schools will see the morning session running from 8:15 AM to 1:15 PM (Monday to Thursday) and 8:15 AM to 12:15 PM on Fridays, while the evening session will be held from 1:15 PM to 6:00 PM (Monday to Thursday) and 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM on Fridays. Postgraduate colleges may maintain their usual schedules depending on academic requirements.

The FDE has directed all Area Education Officers to ensure the strict implementation of the winter schedule across all affiliated institutions, emphasizing punctuality and consistency in school operations. The revised timings are expected to provide a smoother routine for students and staff while ensuring uninterrupted learning during the colder months.
