Around 15 of the 28 public sector universities in Punjab are unable to appoint key officials due to unapproved statutes and service rules, the Academia Magazine has learnt.
Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar was addressing the 129th Convocation of Punjab University and said that the West should learn from Pakistan how to fight terrorism as it has defeated terrorists with the valor and unprecedented sacrifices of Pakistan Army, law enforcement agencies and Pakistani nation.
The seminar on Breast Cancer Awareness was organized by Punjab University (PU) Academic Staff Association (ASA) at Al Raazi Hall. Governor Punjab’s wife Parveen Sarwar, PU ASA president Professor Dr Mumtaz Anwar Chaudhry, secretary Javed Sami, treasurer Rafia Rafiq, Behavioral and Social Sciences Dean Faculty Prof Dr Umbreen Javed, Life Sciences Dean Faculty Professor Dr Firdous e Barin, Dr Anisa Fatima, faculty members and students from various departments participated in the event.
Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar has said that the government will not interfere in the appointment of VCs and deans in public universities across Pakistan as it believed in upholding merit and transparency.
