Police have baton-charged protesting Early Childhood Education Teachers (ECETs), protesting outside Karachi Press Club for permanent jobs on Wednesday. The teachers were barred to move towards the Chief Minister House to convey their complaints and demands and several were arrested, including five female teachers.
Chief Justice of Pakistan Asif Saeed Khosa on Monday, observed that the aim of the Supreme Court’s decision to impose private schools fee rise cap was to curb corruption.
The budget for awarding prizes to Sindh board position holders has been slashed by the Sindh government due to paucity of funds. The provincial government has recently withdrawn the project that awarded prizes to position holders from matric and intermediate levels.
Sindh Government’s Education and Literacy Department has formally launched a gender unit with an aim to encourage and promote girl’s education across the province. The unit has been jointly initiated by the Government of Sindh, Oxfam and Indus Resource Centre.
