5. Fantastic Mr. Fox

Fantastic Mr. Fox is an excellent chapter book for early readers. Mr. Fox is the breadwinner of the family and must protect his family against three evil farmers, Bean, Bunce and Boggis. But unfortunately, the farmers won’t give up easily. This is a great read, and it was even adapted into a Wes Anderson film.

6. The BFG

BFG, which stands for the Big Friendly Giant, tells the tale of a giant who has extremely large ears and blows dreams into children’s windows. When he makes friends with Sophie, an orphan, she travels around with him in his ear to stop evil giants from eating children. It is a great book which makes you feel warm inside. A must read.
