The University of Agriculture organized a seminar, nutrition camp and art exhibition on the eve of Women Day at New Senate Hall, UAF.
Speakers at a symposium said that women’s empowerment should not be considered as man vs woman or West vs East, it is just like giving due rights to all human beings which they deserve. They said that there was a need to remove cultural barriers to give space to women and the women should also learn to respect other women as well. They were addressing a symposium organized by Punjab University Department of Economics on “Women’s Economic Empowerment: Evidence-Based Policy” at PU Law College Auditorium here on Thursday.
For all the machismo on display in Pakistani society, indeed because of it, it is this country’s women that are its real heroes. Some of them have become synonymous with the Contributions of women for their role in Development of Pakistani Society — Muhtarma Fatima Jinnah, Benazir Bhutto, Sana Mir etc.
Students of School of Media and Mass Communication (SMC) of the Beaconhouse National University organized an interactive session to celebrate women of our society to mark the International Women’s Day. Parveen Sarwar, wife of Punjab Governor, was the chief guest.
