Capital’s Educational Institutions Pay Tribute to Armed Forces

On the eve of May 9, educational establishments throughout the capital city joined together to demonstrate unity and respect for the armed forces, marking the anniversary of a turbulent day overshadowed by violence and unrest. Just a year prior, the country was shaken by violent demonstrations and riots, particularly in the military stronghold, where agitated crowds wreaked havoc on both private and public properties, including military installations.

However, this year saw educational institutions organizing events and initiatives aimed at promoting cohesion and honoring military martyrs under governmental guidance. Schoolchildren in public schools of Islamabad showed solidarity with the Pakistan Army and its institutions by donning their uniforms and carrying placards referencing the events of May 9, while proudly waving the Pakistani flag.

One notable event took place at Islamabad Model Postgraduate College H-8, where a ceremony was held, drawing students and educators together to pay tribute to the armed forces. Professor Munir Fayyaz spearheaded the proceedings with a patriotic fervor, ensuring that the program echoed with resolute unity. The students, in turn, delivered remarkable performances, echoing national songs and anthems as a testament to their loyalty.

Dr. Imran Shehzad, a distinguished orator, seized the moment to underscore the paramount significance of national unity, emphasizing its pivotal role as the bedrock of the nation’s resilience. Dr. Ali Ahmed Kharal, serving as the Principal of Islamabad College for Boys G-6/3, graced the gathering as the esteemed chief guest, advocating for patience in nurturing national harmony amid contemporary adversities. Concluding the ceremony, Dr. Muhammad Khalid, Principal of the hosting college, extended his heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Kharal for honoring the occasion with his presence as the Chief Guest.

Simultaneously, at Islamabad Model School I-14/3, students and faculty emerged from the school grounds chanting slogans in solidarity with the Pak Army, echoing the prevailing sentiments of unity resonating throughout the city. In a poignant display of respect, numerous students from various schools adorned the uniforms of the Pakistan Army, symbolizing their deep-seated reverence and admiration for the armed forces.
