The Pakistan Embassy in Doha hosted the leadership of the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi at the inaugural event of the IBA Alumni Qatar Chapter, marking a significant milestone in connecting Pakistani professionals and business leaders in Qatar.
The ceremony brought together senior diplomats, distinguished IBA alumni, and prominent figures from the Pakistani business community. Representing IBA Karachi were Dr S. Akbar Zaidi, Executive Director; Dr Abdullah Zafar Sheikh, Dean, School of Business Studies; and Mr. Mohammad Sohail, Alumni Representative on the IBA Board and CEO of Topline Securities.
His Excellency Mr. Muhammad Aamer, Ambassador of Pakistan to Qatar, graced the occasion along with Mr. Syed Mustafa Rabbani, Deputy Head of Mission.
A highlight of the evening was a panel discussion moderated by Mr Munaf Usmani, Office-Bearer of the IBA Alumni Qatar Chapter. The panelists — Dr Zaidi, Dr Sheikh, and Dr Sohail — engaged in an insightful dialogue on the potential of Pakistani talent and entrepreneurship in Qatar, as well as IBA’s evolving role in shaping Pakistan’s global human capital.
Addressing the audience, Ms Malahat Awan, Director of Alumni Affairs, Resource Mobilization, and Corporate Relations, underscored that IBA’s alumni remain the institution’s most valuable ambassadors, carrying forward its legacy of academic excellence and leadership across the world.
The event concluded with a lively networking session and dinner, allowing attendees to reconnect and foster new professional collaborations. Distinguished guests included CEOs of leading local and international banks, as well as senior executives from major public and private sector organizations.
