ICCBS Partners with Sohail University to Strengthen Research

The International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), University of Karachi, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sohail University to promote academic and research cooperation.

The signing ceremony was held at the HEJ Research Institute of Chemistry, where Prof Dr M Raza Shah, Director of ICCBS, and Dr Rizwana Warraich, Dean of the Faculty of Basic and Applied Sciences at Sohail University, formalized the agreement on behalf of their respective institutions.

Speaking at the occasion, Prof Dr Raza Shah highlighted the importance of strategic academic partnerships in advancing scientific excellence and expanding research networks across Pakistan. He underscored the role of ICCBS as one of the nation’s leading centers of excellence in chemical, biological, and biochemical sciences, serving as a hub for training scholars from home and abroad.

Dr Rizwana Warraich emphasized Sohail University’s commitment to providing quality education and fostering a research-driven environment. She noted that the university is focused on addressing societal challenges and equipping students with skills aligned with the evolving job market.

Under the MoU, ICCBS and Sohail University will collaborate on joint research projects, faculty and researcher exchanges, graduate student supervision, and the organization of seminars, workshops, and symposia. The partnership is expected to enhance scientific knowledge, encourage innovation, and strengthen academic linkages for the benefit of both institutions’ communities.
