Pakistan has secured a major international youth achievement at the Kazan Global Youth Summit 2026, with a five-member international team including a representative from OIC-COMSTECH winning first position in an innovation competition focused on climate change and environmental challenges.
Ms Jabbina Fawwad, Program Officer at OIC-COMSTECH, represented Pakistan as part of the winning team in the competition organized by the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) under the theme “INNOVERSE 50+: For a Resilient Future.”
The competition brought together more than 100 young participants from different countries, who were tasked with developing innovative ideas, submitting their proposals and presenting them before a jury.
The winning team, titled “Climate Change and Environmental Crisis,” comprised five young participants representing Pakistan, Malaysia, Türkiye, Algeria and Russia. Their innovative proposal addressing climate change and environmental challenges earned the team the top position.
The achievement highlights the growing role of young innovators in developing solutions to some of the world’s most pressing environmental challenges. It also demonstrated the value of international youth collaboration, bringing together participants from diverse countries to work collectively on a shared global concern.
As part of the award, members of the winning team received opportunities to benefit from free Coursera courses and free Gini courses, providing additional avenues for professional development, skills enhancement and innovation.
Coordinator General COMSTECH Prof Dr Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary congratulated Ms. Jabbina Fawwad and her fellow team members on their outstanding achievement.
He appreciated the team’s innovative approach, effective teamwork and commitment to tackling critical global challenges. He also expressed hope that the success would encourage more young people from OIC member states to participate in international innovation, leadership and youth development platforms.

The victory at the Kazan Global Youth Summit 2026 adds to Pakistan’s growing presence in international youth and innovation forums and underscores the potential of Pakistani young professionals to contribute meaningful solutions to global challenges.
