Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) marked a significant milestone by hosting its first-ever Industrial Open House 2025, a pioneering initiative organized by the Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC). The event aimed to forge stronger ties between academia and industry while spotlighting women’s leadership and innovation in STEM and allied disciplines.
Over 50 interdisciplinary student projects were showcased, drawing participation from LCWU’s seven faculties and the Khadija-tul-Kubra Business Incubation Center (K-BIC). The diverse range of projects highlighted practical, real-world solutions—from tech innovations and sustainable practices to healthcare advancements and cultural preservation efforts—reflecting the university’s mission to drive community impact and entrepreneurial growth through education.
The open house welcomed professionals from a broad spectrum of industries who engaged with students both in-person and virtually, offering insights, mentorship, and potential collaboration opportunities. Their participation emphasized the growing demand for university-industry synergy in fostering innovation and job-ready graduates.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Uzma Qureshi, under whose dynamic leadership the event was envisioned and brought to life, praised the initiative for “bringing academia closer to the world of practice.” The success of the event was attributed to the dedicated efforts of Director ORIC Prof. Dr. Faiza Saleem and her team, including Dr. Faiza Iftikhar, Dr. Moneeba Iftikhar, Dr. Nudra Malik, Ms. Saima Gulzar, and Ms. Salaha Shaukat.
A collaborative spirit was evident throughout the event, made possible by the contributions of departmental focal persons, student volunteers, and administrative staff, all working together to establish LCWU as a hub of innovation and excellence.
