Provincial Minister for Transport Bilal Akbar Khan visited the University of Management and Technology (UMT) Lahore, where he held an important meeting with UMT President and former Provincial Minister for Transport, Ibrahim Hasan Murad. The discussion centered on strengthening collaboration between the government and academic institutions to advance modern, sustainable and people-friendly transport solutions across Punjab.
Both leaders emphasized that effective progress in transport infrastructure requires strong partnerships between universities and government departments. They agreed to expand cooperation in youth skill development, academia–industry linkages, modern transport technologies, road safety programs and specialized training initiatives to prepare the province’s workforce for emerging mobility needs.
President UMT Ibrahim Hasan Murad highlighted the critical role of innovation, safe mobility and globally competitive skills in shaping Pakistan’s future. He reiterated UMT’s commitment to blending quality education with practical training, technology integration and research-driven solutions that equip students to meet modern industry demands. He stressed that robust collaboration between academia and government is key to achieving long-term, transparent and impactful development.
Provincial Minister Bilal Akbar Khan commended Ibrahim Hasan Murad for his notable contributions as former Transport Minister, especially in policy reforms, institutional strengthening and promoting road safety. He also praised UMT for its academic excellence and its influential role in youth development and professional training.
