Federal Minister for Law and Justice, Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, held talks with a high-level delegation from the University of London to advance bilateral cooperation in the legal academic field. The delegation was headed by the University’s Pro Vice-Chancellor (Education), Professor Philip Allmendinger.
Discussions centered on forging robust institutional partnerships between Pakistani universities and international institutions through joint degree programs and collaborative academic initiatives. Minister Tarar emphasized that such partnerships are crucial for enhancing the standard of legal education in Pakistan, generating sustainable revenue for institutions, and providing students with wider access to internationally recognized qualifications.
A key focus was on blending distance learning with traditional on-campus education to equip students with practical expertise within the Pakistani legal context. During the meeting, Barrister Usama Malik, Director of the Directorate of Legal Education, highlighted the recent integration of a dedicated Pakistani law module into the University of London’s LLB (Hons) program.
